1. working for a corporation in the city makes you fall out of the truth.. 2. if you become inactive or leave jehovah you will make your whole family sad and ruin everything.. 3. all worldly people cheat.. 4. all worldly people curse.. 5.

I started coming here right after I decided I didn't want to be a dub anymore. I had no idea about all the scandals, doctrinal errors, and absolute bull coming out of Brooklyn. All I knew was that I was unhappy and the borg was making it worse. I could see that my kids weren't happy, and Just ROn wasn't happy. I was too tired to care about eternity. I began looking on the internet for answers to some of Just ROn's questions, and found this site. He was far more attuned to inconsistencies and bull than I was.

Why the "worldly" thought of heaven is more comforting than Paradise
by kneehighmiah inone of the worst and best things about waking up is realizing that despite what you've been taught as a child, you are going to die one day.
that was easy for me to handle, as i've had near death medical emerigencies.
the hardest part is the thought of losing your parents.

I like the idea of my conciousness rejoining the universal energy grid. Perhaps I can still watch my family, or perhaps I will simply be the breeze that dries their tears.

Happy Anniversary! When Just Ron and I got married, some of our friends were making bets on how long it would last. No one gave us more than 5 years. We've been married for 22 years now, and are still happy and in love. Our JW years in the middle of our marriage were crappy, but we are out and free again!

How often do you see the Witnesses out on the ministry?
by rory-ks ini only ask because i hardly ever see them out on the ministry.
it is a very rare sighting to spot them actively engaged in the house to house ministry.
or out on the street work, in the marketplace, etc.. the other reason i ask is because they are constantly pictured as being on the preaching work.

they haven't hit our house since right after we quit going. I guess we've been written off entirely!

Any advice?
by InChristAlone ini was told a very heartbreaking story last night.
one of my childhood friends adopted two kids from africa several years ago.
these kids have had very severe anger management issues and have been in regular therapy.

I feel sorry for just about everyone else.. even the elder's wife
by ohnightdivine ini've been busy with with being busy after knowing ttatt.
after this sunday's meeting i was invited over by one congregation elder's wife to an afternoon coffee.
we're not very close because of the age gap but we've "known" each other for so many years now, being in the same congregation.. she is like the anchor of the group.

I knew an elder's wife in that situation. They had agreed to not have children, but it was clear that neither of them was happy with that decision later on. I guess it was too late though, she's several years older than me and I'm 43.
